A.G. Pope is the daughter of an Italian-Libyan father and a South American mother whose family fled Spain to escape Jewish persecution. She grew up between cultures and histories. Her father is the baby born in her debut novel's final pages.
Of Triumph and Solitude draws on a decade of archival research and travel in Italy and North Africa into the 1940–41 campaign and Italian POW life. She holds a B.A. in Modern Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and was named a U.S. Presidential Scholar.
She lives in California.
